Environmental Senior Specialist-NC DENR
The position is physically located in the Archdale Building at 512 N. Salisbury St., Raleigh, NC. The primary purpose of this position is to contribute to DWR’s portion of the statewide stream mapping effort – the Headwater Stream Spatial Dataset project – in conjunction with North Carolina Department of Transportation’s (NCDOT) modeling efforts.  This position will perform some fieldwork consisting of identification of stream origins in accordance with the NC Methodology for Identification of Intermittent and Perennial Streams and Their Origins and recording their locations with map-grade GPS receivers. Management of that GPS data, GIS data management and GIS data manipulation will be shared with the team. Candidates must be able to communicate with the general public and clients of the Division, prepare written reports, present progress and findings to diverse audiences and work with considerable independence.
